JAMMU: NSS GGM Science College paid tributes to Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam on his 6th Death Anniversary under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan.
Dr Kalam served as the 11th President of India. The life story of Kalam tells about the power of dreams.
Born in a modest family, Dr Kalam in his childhood days faced hard times but he worked hard and studied well to achieve his goals.
As an aerospace scientist, Dr Kalam worked with India’s two major space research organisations viz Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). His most significant works include the development of the Indian ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology.
He played a central role in one of India’s most important nuclear tests, Pokhran-II.
For his work in science and politics, he was awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’, India’s highest civilian honour.
NSS Volunteers paid tributes by placards remembering his vision especially for students and youth.
