JAMMU: Police on Wednesday seized 51 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested a bootlegger in Kanha Chak area. As per details, a party from Police Station Kanha Chak led by SHO Kanha Chak Insp Vishav Pratap Singh while on Naka duty at Batehera rounded up a suspect namely Deepak Kumar, son of Thoru Ram, resident of Manyal Brahamna, Tehsil Marh who was carrying a bag containing illicit liquor on a vehicle (JK02AX-9558). He was arrested and FIR No. 109/2021 under section 48(A) of Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station Kanha Chak.
During search, 51 bottles (180 ml each) of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. The overall arrest and recoveries were made under supervision of SDPO Domana Kousheen Koul.
