STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: J&K Dharmarth Trust on Wednesday proposed remarkable changes for adding more beauty and charm to Shree Raghunath Temple Complex to attract more visitors by offering better facilities and enchanting hospitality at this historical religious destination. The proposal was forwarded by President J&K Dharmarth Trust Ajay Gandotra and Secretary Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma while coordinating a joint inspection of the aforesaid temple complex wherein Mayor Jammu Chander Mohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, Additional DC Jammu Satish Sharma, Joint Commissioner JMC and Director Tourism Jammu Vivekananda Rai, Corporator Ward No. 15 Sandhya Gupta and other officials representing various government departments were part of the inspecting team. Members of Advisory Committee of J&K Dharmarth Trust under the Chairmanship of Pt. Shiv Raina were also present. The key points which were taken up during the inspection include adornment and illumination of main entrance of the temple premises, installation of taps at different points to provide refrigerated potable water, exclusive bore well to cater to the water needs of this religious place, shifting of security pickets from its current location outside the main gate, permission for carrying cell phones and Pooja Samgri inside the temple complex and frisking of visitors to be carried out by non-uniform personnel besides installation of halogen lights, restoration of Bhajan and Mantra Ucharan broadcast at Raghunath Temple and adjoining markets using high quality sound system, flood lights in Parikarma, erection of ornamental poles under smart city project, removal of encroachment in and around Shree Raghunath Temple Complex, upgradation of parks and gardens and installation of big LED screens. The Mayor Jammu praised the Dharmarth Trust for its endeavours to revamp and restore the pristine glory of temples and shrines in J&K. He fully endorsed the proposal to refurbish and rejuvenate the temple premises and assured wholehearted support of the civic body. Director Tourism Jammu assured all sorts of help in restoring the lost glory of the temple and gave instructions to the engineering wing to have a detailed evaluation of the situation so that a proper project can be made. Earlier, a special Aarti was also performed by the main priests of the temple on the occasion where all the dignitaries received blessings from the deities.
