JAMMU: The top focus of BJP in Jammu is to mitigate problems of the people and give them respite from miseries which they are facing in the last over seventy years.
This was stated by senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta after inaugurating plantation drive at Park No. 44, near Lakshmi Narayan Temple at Gandhi Nagar area falling under Ward No 21, here on Wednesday.
The aforesaid drive was organised by the BJP District President Vinay Gupta and Gandhi Nagar Mandal President Neeraj Puri.
BJP Ward No. 21 President Bharat Talwar, Indu Bhushan Sharma State Co-Convenor Trade and Industry Cell, J&K UT, Arun Khosla Co-Convenor Aajeevan Sahayog Nidhi, Varun Sharma Gandhi Nagar Mandal Vice President, Nayan Gupta General Secretary Gandhi Nagar Mandal, Ankush Dogra (IT In-charge District Jammu and Arvind Gupta District Addl. Publicity Secretary besides BJP team members Vikas Sharma, Sunesh Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Kunal Sharma and Rajesh Bhau were also present.
Kavinder said that BJP has envisaged a multipronged strategy for J&K with special emphasis enshrined in its schedule to make environment pollution free and serene. He said instead of talking about big things the BJP leadership is focusing on local issues which can make a big difference in the lives of people.
Later, locals apprised him about non-maintenance of the park, need to install more street lights and cleanliness issues.
After giving a patient hearing, Kavinder assured people that their issues will be brought into the notice of concerned authorities and it will be ensured that sooner than later all their issues will be resolved.
Locals present on the occasion include Vinod Gupta, Pawan Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Ashwani Gupta, Balwant Singh, Rajeshwar Singh, Naresh Gupta, Raghav Sharma, Mohan Lal Gupta, Jash Sharma, Naveen Sharma, Mohan Lal Gupta, Nati Sharma and Ritesh Gupta.
The former deputy CM said that the parks have been handed over to JMC but the civic body is not maintaining them properly. He appealed to the Mayor Jammu for proper maintenance of all parks.
Meanwhile, Kavinder also visited the residence of the deceased Railway Police Officer who along with his wife and two children met with an accident near Ramban when he was coming from Kashmir to Jammu. He condoled the tragic deaths with the relatives of the deceased family and prayed to God for granting peace to departed souls.
Kavinder also expressed grief over loss of lives in the Kishtwar cloudburst wherein several people have gone missing.
He appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and demanded relief for the affected families.
