KATRA: In its continuous efforts to spread sanitation awareness, ‘Being Indian Patriots’ on Sunday organised an awareness campaign “Run For BanGanga” in Katra (V.Devi). Before the run, BIP’s Jersey was also launched.
BanGanga and other river bodies in the country are being polluted for decades and some of them are dying. ‘Being Indian Patriots’ have been working in the field of sanitation awareness continuously and educating people about the same is one of its tool to motivate people. ‘Run For BanGanga’ was organised on the same pattern where placards were displayed saying the significance of ‘clean BanGanga’.
The organisation did the same awareness campaign for 1000 years old Bhumika Temple in Katra with cooperation from Katra administration.
Speaking to the media DFO Reasi Jyotsana stated that such campaigns and drives are the need of the hour and cleaning a river like BanGanga has a social and strategical significance. And, organisations like ‘Being Indian Patriots’ are leading the way and motivating people to work for environment.
SDPO Katra, Kuljeet Singh also applauded the efforts of the volunteers of BIP and pledged to participate in such campaigns which are educating all to conserve water bodies.
Himanshu Sharma, Founder/Chairman of Being Indian Patriots thanked all the participants and invited everyone on Sundays to volunteer in cleaning BanGanga..
After the run, DFO Reasi distributed plants to every volunteer depicting importance of trees in water conservation.
Those who participated in the campaign included DFO Reasi Jyotsana (IFS), SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh, SHO Katra Sunil Sharma, CRPF 06 BN Comm. Jitender Gupta, Danish Kesar, Ishan Padha, Nigam Arora, Manav Sanmotra and all others.
