POONCH: Army conducted a lecture on World Day against Trafficking of Persons at Salwah in District Poonch. Thousands of men, women and children end up in hands of traffickers every year.
COVID-19 has also amplified trafficking danger owing to loss of jobs, growing poverty and a rise in online interactions. During the lecture people were briefed about trafficking as a crime that exploits Women, Children and Men for numerous purposes including forced labour. The Villagers were also urged and encouraged to report such activities immediately to police as well as Army. A large no of villagers attended the interactive lecture and expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for conducting such informative lecture.
