Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 118 fresh cases of the coronavirus on Monday, which took the tally to 3,21,725, while two more deaths-one each from the Valley and the Jammu division– pushed the toll to 4,381, officials said.
Out of the fresh cases, 72 were from the Jammu division and 46 from the Kashmir division of the Union Territory, they said.
The officials said that Reasi district in the Jammu division recorded the highest number of 42 cases, followed by 18 in Srinagar district.
The number of active cases rose slightly to 1,254 in the union territory, while 3,16,090 patients have recovered so far, the officials said.
They said, there were 35 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory and no fresh case was reported since last evening.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 11827953 test results available, 11506228 samples have been tested as negative till today.
Till date 2875717 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 7348 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1254 in isolation and 353298 in home surveillance. Besides, 2509436 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Meanwhile, Ladakh has recorded just two fresh COVID-19 cases while one person recovered, taking the number of active cases to 57, officials said.
There was no fresh death from Covid, they said.
The total number of cases in the union territory is now 20,340.
Ladakh has registered 207 Covid-related deaths — 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil — since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. A total of 20,076 patients have recovered till date. Both the new cases were reported from Leh. A total of 1,782 samples 1,201 from Leh and 581 from Kargil — were found negative, they said.
Ladakh has discharged one patient yesterday and that patient was discharged from Leh.
