People fatigued with BJP rule, yearning for change: Harsh

‘Rename CUJ after Brigadier Rajinder Singh’

STATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: Asserting that the BJP Govt’s claims of ushering a ‘new era of dawn’ post Article 370 abrogation had proved a farce, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman-JKNPP and former Minister, on Tuesday regretted that the erstwhile state had faced worst ever crisis during the last few years.
“The development inertia, the crashing economy, back breaking inflation, soaring unemployment, resentment among farmers and border dwellers, bourgeoning culture of corruption etc have made the situation from bad to worse in J&K”, said Singh.
He was addressing huge public rally in Samba which was organized by Yash Paul Kundal, former Minister and General Secretary of the Panthers Party.
Several resolutions were passed on the occasion including the renaming of Jammu Central University after the name of Brigadier Rajinder Singh.
While addressing the rally, Harsh lambasted the GoI for its failure to flatten the curve of corona pandemic whose second wave had hardly seconded and the third wave was reportedly on the verge of entry vaccine drugs sputtering due to lack of vaccines and the heavy toll of deaths due to cover had consumed the narrative of bravado and bombast.
Referring to the border conflicts, increased terrorists activity and resultant losses of lives and property”, Singh rued that factual reports had laid bare the ground realities and punctured the government’s peace claims.
He said ever since the abrogation of J&K’s special status, both the LoC and the IB have witnessed an escalation in ceasefire violations by Pakistan with the latter adopting new method of attack using drones.
The rogue nation has been pounding forward villages causing immense loss to the lives and property of the border dwellers. Not only the border skirmishes have soared but the belligerent nation also continued to infiltrate militants, arms and drugs to vitiate peace in the region.
The failure of the BJP government to curb Pak sponsored terror has pitted J&K against all odds. Spike in political and civilian killing in the region has corroborated the security lapse in the system. The opposition leaders have been deliberately deprived of adequate security cover and the dissenting leaders are being targeted under a deep rooted conspiracy, said Harsh. Seeking renaming of Central University Jammu after Brigadier Rajinder Singh, Singh said that the move would be a befitting tribute to the son of the soil, a legendary dogra warrior who laid down his life for the cause of dogra land. He said that precedents do exist as several central Universities have already been named after politicians and other persons of eminence including Rajiv Gandhi Central University in Arunachal Pradesh; Dr. Hari Singh Gour Central University in Madhya Pradesh; Guru Ghasidas Central University in Chhattisgarh and Rani Lakshmi Bai Central University in Uttar Pradesh.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajeshwar Sambyal, Yashpaul Sharma, Surinder Chouhan, Mohinder Singh, Vishab, Naresh and Arun Khajurai. Dozens of youth and women joined the Panthers Party on the occasion.
