JAMMU: The growing infrastructure with as many as five new Astroturfs being laid at different places of the Union Territory, Jammu and Kashmir could be a leading unit of the Hockey India to contribute to the growth of the game.
The UT unit of the Hockey India has also been stabilised with top officials having mutual understanding and urge to work cohesively to achieve desired results.
“With hockey hubs of Jammu, Poonch, Baramulla and Srinagar getting state of the art infrastructure in the shape of Astroturf, Hockey J&K looks forward to contribute to the further growth of the game in the country. Our big congratulations to the Bronze winning Team India and good wishes to the Hockey India,” Working President of the Hockey J&K.
Meanwhile, in a separate function, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hockey Club celebrated the victory of Indian Hockey team in Olympics 2020 at Sports Field Old Satwari, here.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the Club, Dr Taran Singh said, “After a long period of 41 years Indian Hockey has given us opportunity to celebrate. Young players should follow the path shown by Indian hockey team that every impossible aim can be achieved with the hard work and discipline.”
He congratulated the president of Indian Olympic Association and International Hockey Federation, Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra for his able guidance and leadership. The event was coordinated by coach of the Club, Angat Singh.
