Kulgam: Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from society, Police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
As per details, a party of Police Station Yaripora at a checkpoint established at Yaripora intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing registration number PB10HA-0839 driven by one Jasveer Singh, son of Palan Singh, resident of Shairpur Moga (Punjab). During checking, officers recovered 16 Kg poppy straw from his possession. He was arrested and shifted to police station where he remained in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, FIR No. 51/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation started.
