REASI: Police on Thursday presented charge-sheet against a drug-peddler.
As per details, Police at a surprise Naka established near petrol pump Mahore for checking of vehicles, arrested one Imran Ahmed, son of Barakat Ullah, resident of Acherlla Mahore and recovered 350 gm Charas like substance from his possession. FIR No 07/2021 under sections 8, 20 of NDPS Act was lodged against him at Police Station Mahore.
During investigations, the officers seized narcotics & collected all other evidences besides recording statements of witnesses and taking expert opinion from forensic science laboratory Jammu, which proved allegations against the accused. The charge-sheet was produced before court of Sessions Judge Reasi for judicial determination.
Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi conveyed that free and fair investigations in NDPS cases will help to curb menace of drug abuse in the area and is important for improving conviction rate under NDPS Act.
