JAMMU: Police on Friday solved a hit & run case solved by arresting an accused.
As per details, on June 11, 2021, an information was received at Police Station Gangyal from reliable sources that a vehicle driven in rash and negligent manner hit a pedestrian at Gangyal Chowk, due to which he got injured. The injured person, identified as Madan Lal, son of Jagat Ram, resident of Pandori Brahmana, Bishnah, was shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment, where he succumbed. On this, FIR No. 124/21 under sections 279/337/304-A of IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
Special police teams of Police Station Gangyal under the supervision of SDPO South P K Mengi were constituted. The team led by SHO Gangyal Insp Raghubir Singh assisted by PSI Sanjeev Sharma after hectic efforts and with help of CCTV footages of the area, arrested accused driver namely Tinku Kumar, son of Manga Ram, resident of Channi Kothey, Glarrian. On his disclosure, the vehicle (JK21G 9510) was also recovered and seized.
