JAMMU: Keeping in sight the Independence Day celebration, the J&K Sports Council organized a volleyball tournament at village Birpur in the unforgettable memory of its local police Martyr Pardeep Jamwal.
The players of five clubs namely Birpur Sports Club, Ratnochak Sports Club, Kundanpur Sports Club, Kharamadana Sports Club and Data Talks Sports Club participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Kharamadana and Ratnochak Sports Club in which Kharamadana Sports Club clinched the trophy by winning the straight sets.
Chief Guest was spouse of the Martyr while Rajiv Sharma and Veena Jamwal Sarpanch Birpur were the Guests of Honour. Chief Executive Officer Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Kuldeep Magotra and Romesh Sharma were special guests. Advocate Akhileshwar Jamwal Panch Birpur was the Organising Secretary of tournament. Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer JKSC Jammu assured the spectators and the family of the martyr to organise the tournament in future to memorize the martyr for his Supreme sacrifice. Prominent persons present were Narinder Singh, Sudarshan Singh, Rajiv Sharma and Varun Singh.
