POONCH: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Inder Jeet on Monday reviewed the functioning of the Revenue Department here at a meeting of Revenue officers of the District.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Basharat Hussain; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; SDM Mendhar, Dr Sahil Jandhyal; HeadquarterAssistant, Jahangir Khan, all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of the district and other revenue officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the DC had a detailed review of various issues like progress and deposition of Jamabandis, Girdawaries, attestation of mutations, progress on eviction of encroachment from government land , Kahcharai, Common land and forest land and maintenance of Revenue Record for digitization and the cases related to the land acquisition.
While reviewing the progress on removal of encroachments, the DC exhorted upon the concerned officers to keep strict vigil to prevent encroachment. He directed the concerned officials to attest the inheritance and other mutations within the stipulated timeline. He asked for giving revenue matters related to the public first priority. He asked them to keep days reserved for revenue matters to create a citizen friendly and accountable administration.
Directions were issued for timely updation of revenue records and effective delivery of public services.
The DC issued directions to the officers to book those persons who have encroached state land, Common land and Khachrai land, immediately.
He asked the revenue officers to update the revenue record and scan the same in a time bound manner.
He directed the officers that the process of getting the revenue record online should be completed by 11th of August, so that online service could be launched on 15th of August. He also said that other related services like issuance of Domicile Certificates, Category certificates or any other government services should be easily available on door steps so that the public do not face any problem.
For the National Highway Double Laning project, all Land acquisition pendency should be completed immediately so that the project could be started at an earliest, he directed.
The DC also took case wise review of the government projects and issued directions to the Tehsildars for identification of land for BDC Bhavan, DDC Chairperson’s office, DDC Vice Chairperson’s office and residence, Eklavya School and various other government projects.
He also reviewed the status of Revenue Court Cases and directed the concerned officers to ensure the progress.
He asked for speedy disposal of the relief cases related to loss of livestock, property due to natural calamities and Pak shelling.
It was informed in the meeting that the Jamabandies of all the178 villages of the 2014-18 period have been completed and those of the current period are being written and will be completed soon.
