Fraudster arrested from Delhi airport

JAMMU: Jammu Police along with CID wing on Sunday arrested a fraudster from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
Police said that accused Kanwar Deep Singh, wanted in two cheating cases registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station, was absconding for past few months. The court has declared him absconder as he was on run. He was taken to Gandhi Nagar Police Station and is being questioned.
Pertinent to mention here that Kanwar has taken a loan of Rs 10 lakh from Chand Nagar branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank few years back and opened a clothing showroom. Kanwar did not return loan taken from the bank for which bank also sent him several notices, but he not answered. After this, a case was registered against Kanwar Deep Singh by Jammu and Kashmir Bank Management at Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
Apart from bank, Kanwar Deep Singh is also accused of cheating in the name of setting up a committee from Baral Finance Company. In March, a case of cheating was registered against Kanwar and his other family members.
The police team was sent to his house several times to arrest Kanwar, but every time he escaped. Jammu Police took help of CID wing for the arrest of the accused. After getting information from CID wing that Kanwar Deep is trying to escape from Delhi, police raided Delhi airport and arrested the accused.
