STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: Sub Distt Hospital Mandi celebrated August Kranti Diwas on Monday to pay homage to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for freedom, from Kranti Maidaan Mumbai and the Do or Die slogan was given by Mahatma Gandi and Quit India. To crush this movement, Mahatma Gandhi, PT Jawahar Lal Nehru and Aruna Asif were arrested and put behind the bars and their accounts were also seized. Following the COVID protocol Block Medical officer Mandi Dr Nusrat ul Nissa Bhatti organised a function to mark the Azadi Ka Amrut Maha Utsav, fortnight. Pertinent to mention that these programmes are being organized on the directions of DDC Poonch Inderjeet as desired by the LG Manoj Sinha to acquaint the younger generation about freedom struggle and to infuse a sense of nationalism and patriotism. A patriotic cultural programme was also staged by the artists of Sarswati Sangeet Kala Kendra Poonch on the occasion.
