JAMMU: IkkJutt Jammu Yuva on Friday a protest march at Bikram Chowk against Jammu Municipal Corporation for neglecting the demand of Jammuites regarding the maintenance of Maharaja Hari Singh’s statue at Bikram Chowk.
Few months ago after seeing worst condition of Maharaja’s statue, IkkJutt Jammu Yuva team organized the Swachta Abhiyan and after that they submitted a memorandum at JMC office for the maintenance of Maharaja Hari Singh’s statue but no positive response given to them from JMC.
“We request JMC officers to grant permission to us so that we will do the maintenance but again they didn’t give any response to us,” protesters said.
This is so shameful one side they are talking about “Smart city” and on another side they are not able to renovate the Maharaja Hari Singh’s statue, they alleged.
They also asked all Jammuites to unite for preserving Dogra identity and to pressurize the government for declaring Gazatted holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh.
