JAMMU: Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday said that BJP is committed to safe and dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir Valley as very soon his Party is going to fulfill the dreams of KPs by rehabilitating them in the Kashmir Valley. In a statement issued today, the senior BJP leader endorsed the statement of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in his Independence Day address regarding the rehabilitation of this miniscule community back in the Valley. He said that about 31 years back the KPs were forced to leave their homes and hearths due to prejudice of the then government and the community had to live like refugees in its very own country with both Centre and the erstwhile State dispensations of that time remaining dormant as if onus of all this was not theirs. He made it clear that BJP is quite serious on the issue of Kashmiri Pandits and like repeal of Article 370 as was promised in the party’s manifesto soon the promise made by BJP leadership regarding dignified return of KPs shall also be fulfilled and the sacred land created by Maharishi Kashyap will once again regain its lost glory and sheen. The former deputy Chief Minister also welcomed the statement of Prime Minister that elections will be held in the Jammu and Kashmir very soon. He asked the activists and workers of the party to gear up for the Assembly elections as the same are expected to be held any time now. He said that need of the hour is to strengthen party base and make people aware about the development works carried out by the BJP Government. Kavinder directed the party workers to take achievements of BJP to the people at grass roots level. He also urged them to disseminate information about the multiple schemes launched by the BJP Govt for the common people especially for the needy and poor and ensure that people in their respective areas avail the benefit of the appropriate and suitable schemes.
