JAMMU: To celebrates the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and to promote the traditional folk culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) celebrated 75th Independence Day with enthusiasm at Janipur.
The Function was inaugurated by Yash Pal Sharma, Counselor JMC Ward 35 and President Swachh Bharat Jammu as Chief Guest who unfurled the National Flag along with V.K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India, R.P Amla, former Field Publicity Assistant of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and Dr. M.L Dogra, Chairman BLSKS.
The Chief Guest recalled the contribution of freedom-fighters in attaining India’s freedom and exhorted the people to preserve its freedom at all cost.
After the flag hosting, an impressive cultural programme was presented by the students, artists of BLSKS and Sangam Tru Art Production.
Earlier welcoming the audience, V.K Magotra, highlighted the importance of the day and said on the stroke of midnight, 15 Aug 1947, two nations were born, India and Pakistan & India’s Independence Day is the most important day to all the Indian citizens and has been mentioned forever in the history.
“We all should feel proud to be an Indian and admire our fortune that we took birth on the land of an Independent India.” he said and also urged upon the people to come forward the people of Jammu & Kashmir in making India-A Proud Nation.
The renowned artistes Usha Handoo, M.C Kotwal, K.K Joshi, Raju Bajgal, Sant Das, Bindia Okheda, Mukesh Okheda, Devansh Verma, Dhruv Pandit, Rakshit Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Mitali, Vasnh, Sanvi, Megha, Saparsh, Afroz Raaz, Sant Dass, Druv Pandit and Adiraj presented the enthralled performance. Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
