‘Green J&K Plantation drive’ organised in GGM Science College

JAMMU: GGM Science College celebrating Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo organized plantation drive in the college campus in support of with District Forest Office Jammu.
Principal thanked Sunil Singh DFO for making this plantation drive successful as per “Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive”. “Plant trees to save Planet” the motto of Urban Forestry Division. Dr. Ravender Tickoo planted more than ten trees in the campus area encouraging students and staff to grow more and more trees, nurture them for better future.
Beautification committee and Botany Department, NSS organized the plantation drive. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Bimla Devi HOD Botany, Convenor Beautification Committee. Dr. Deepali Mahajan NSS PO, Dr. R.K Bhat, Prof. Anita, Prof. Neena, Prof. Neeti, Prof. Smeeksha, Prof. Lakhwinder, Prof. Mehnaz also participated in the plantation drive. Forest department volunteers, college daily wagers cleaned the area and made pits for planting 100 saplings. The plants Gulmohar, Sukhchain, Neem, Arjuna, Amla, Panchtara, Lagerstromia, Arecha Palm, Jamun, Chinar, etc. were planted. The NSS volunteers Anchal, Tanisha, Mitali, Muskan, Karnveer participated enthusiastically.
