JAMMU: To propagate social and political messages in a humorous and sarcastic way and to create awareness among the masses, students of Class IX of JK Public School Kunjwani highlighted various socially relevant issues in a distinctive manner by presenting virtual Nukkad Natak.
Some of the themes of these Nukkad Nataks were Beti Bachao Beti Padaho, Women Empowerment, No Corruption, Don’t Abuse Parent, Child Labour, Save Energy, Save Heritage, etc.
Though it was an online event but students portrayed their acting skills well from their homes. The short plays were well scripted, laden with messages and executed to perfection.
The event was hosted under the patronage of Vandana Sharma, Principal JK Public School Kunjwani, who appreciated efforts of the students and teachers for making this event more impactful, also she thanked the jury members.
Vice Principal Shashi Rattan recited a poem of Rabindra Nath Tagore ‘Where the Mind is Without Fear’.
The event culminated with announcement of results in which Play on ‘Women Empowerment’ got the first position, ‘No to Corruption’ got second position and ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ got third position. Naman Gupta and Sehaj Pal were adjudged best narrators.
The programme was organised by the Activity Incharge Ranjana Chib and creative support was given by Rena Sanyal.
