BANI: The Final match of Volleyball tournament was played between Diamond Club Bani and Rasing Star Lowhang at Higher Secondary School Bani in which DDC Vice-Chairman Sh Ragunandhan Singh Jasrotia was the chief gust while President Municipality Committee Lakhanpur, Sh Ravinder Sharma (Citu), DDC Bani Smt Reeta Thakur SDM Bani, Joginder Singh Jasrotia and Advocate Rakesh Thakur, Rakesh Kumar were also present.
This tournament was organized by Royal Sports Club Bani in which large number of teams took part.
After inaugurating the tournament, DDC Vice-Chairman Kathua appreciated the Organising Committee and Mr Muzafir Malik, President of the Club for making relentless efforts in promoting the sports and providing a platform to the youth of this far off area. He said that sports plays a very significant role in the life of an individual as it is not only an entertaining event but a vital factor that leads to optimum physical fitness. Moreover, it also prevents the vulnerable age group youth from getting strayed to drugs and other evils. He assured that he would provide full support to the various sports clubs in the area to promote sports in the area and motivate more and more youth to make sports inseparable part of their daily routine. He further advised the youth to stay away drugs asserting that sports is the best means that relieves the youth of all sorts of stress and ultimately keeps them away from drugs.
While addressing the gathering, SDM Bani expressed gratitude to the DDC Vice-Chairman for their kind visit to Bani and for boosting the morale of the players. He advised the youth to take proactively participate in sports besides encouraging others too to adopt sports as a pastime venture.
The youth of Bani area also threw light on lacking of sports infrastructure in their area especially non-available of stadium.
The DDC Vice-Chairman assured the youth of the area that he will do his best in fulfilling their issue within the shortest possible time. He also assured the youth in promoting sports in the area so that it produces the national and international level sportspersons.
