Shiv Sena alleges violation of democratic, political rights

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackeray) has accused the government of violating political and democratic rights of nationalistic constituency especially the Shiv Sainiks while giving a free hand to those resorting to unabated anti-national rhetoric.
Addressing media persons during a silent protest here today President UT J&K, Manish Sahni asserted that nothing has changed in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.
Even during the Kashmiri rule, Shiv Sainiks were prevented from going to Kashmir and the same continues even today, he said.
Sahni alleged that Shiv Sainiks are not being allowed to campaign for the party in Kashmir which is a blatant violation of their political and democratic rights.
He said that at the behest of BJP, we are being forcibly stopped from going to Kashmir by using police force.
Manish Sahni said that it is really ironic that while the Prime Minister and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir are free to move in Kashmir claiming improved situation and early resumption of the democratic process, the Hindu based parties are still not allowed to visit Kashmir.
Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, Sahni said that the ban on Indians’ travelling to any part of India including Kashmir is highly condemnable.
The Shiv Sena President warned the Govt against testing their patience and instead ensure that the democratic and political rights of Shiv Sainiks are not violated.
Asserting that nothing has changed in the new Kashmir, Sahni said that most of the political parties including BJP are still trying to exploit the situation of Kashmir in their favour and are misleading the people of the country about the ground situation in Kashmir.
Sahni demanded the immediate arrest of Hurriyat leaders over terror funding alleging that despite all the evidence, Govt is giving more importance to publicity rather than their arrest.
He also condemned the Govt for not taking strict legal action PDP President Mehbooba Mufti who is continuously issuing highly venomous anti-national statements.
Those present on the occasion included President Women’s Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Senior Vice President Sandeep Bhagat, Balwant Singh, President Kamghar Raj Singh, Balbir Singh, Secretary Geeta Lakhotra, Dimple, Sanjeev Soodan, Tarsam, Rakesh Handa and Uttam Singh were present.
