Two shopkeepers arrested for selling synthetic thread

AKHNOOR/BISHNAH: In a drive against sale of banned synthetic thread (Manja) various raids were conducted in different locations by Jammu Police. Teams from Police Stations Bishnah and Akhnoor rounded up two persons with various rolls of synthetic thread (Manja). Accused namely Ashwani Kumar, son of Babu Ram, resident of Bishnah Distt Jammu was arrested by Bishnah police while Karan Kumar, son of Puran Chand, resident of Mandrian Tehsil Maira Mandrian Jammu was arrested by Akhnoor police.
FIR No. 139/2021 was registered at Bishnah police and FIR No. 212/2021 under section 188 of IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor. The arrests were made in violation of DM order regarding ban on sale of plastic/synthetic thread (Manja). The arrests were made by SHO Bishnah Inspr Joginder Singh and SHO Akhnoor Insp Hilal Azhar. Further investigation is going on.
