SRINAGAR: Chairman Trustee of Dharmarth Trust J&K, Dr Karan Singh paid obeisance at the famous Shankaracharya Temple at Summer Capital of J&K and prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of the UT.
This was divulged by Ajay Gandotra President Dharmarth Trust J&K in a press handout issued here on Thursday.
The statement said that Dr Karan Singh also took stock of the facilities being provided to the visiting pilgrims as the aforesaid temple has a great significance as far as spiritual and the tourist point of view is concerned.
“Being the Chairman Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust, Dr Karan Singh keenly looked after the affairs of this temple and many others in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and advocated for hassle-free and convenient stay of devotees in these shrines and temples being run by the aforesaid trust for the last over one hundred years”, Ajay Gandotra said, adding that the Trust is persistently moving ahead to improve facilities whether the temples and shrine are situated in Jammu region or the Kashmir.
The Trust’s President said recently the Tourism Department has given nod to rope in some of the shrines and temples run under the aegis of Dharmarth Trust under the prestigious Prasad Scheme of central government.
“We are working consistently to render selfless service to the devotees and provide them state-of-art facilities in the temples and shrines situated in the UT of J&K to make their pilgrimage memorable one and mesmerizing”, he said, adding that Dharmarth Trust feels immensely privileged to showcase rich religious and spiritual culture of the region before the visiting devotees and the tourists and will continue to do the same in coming times with same zeal and zest.
