STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: A demonstration was held against the Modi government under the chairmanship of Kathua District Youth Congress President Romi Sharma in Chhan Aroria (Marheen) in which many youths participated. Talking to the media, Romi Sharma said that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has privatized 13 sectors under the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP). This is a clear attempt to sell strategically important sectors from roads to railway stations, airports to shipping ports to private entities. This issue is very sensitive and serious and needs to be opposed at all costs. Rahul Gandhi has already announced in the press conference on 24th August 2021 that Congress will not allow this coercive sale of precious assets of our country. Romi Sharma told that today Youth Congress is on the streets against what Modi government is doing to sell the country Youth Congress will protest all over the country and until the Modi government withdraws the decision, this demonstration will continue in every tehsil in the entire district of Kathua. Meanwhile, Scores of Pradesh Youth Congress (J&K PYC) activists received severe injuries during a cane-charge by Police while they were staging a protest against the privatization of government departments by the Centre at Kishtwar. On the call of National leadership dozens of JKPYC activists held a strong protest led by JKPYC Spokesperson Dr. Jahanzaib Sirwal in Kishtwar after which Police lathicharged in which many youth congress workers got severe injuries. During the protest, several protest Youth Congress activists including Assembly President Muneeb Kamal, DYC Vice President Tariq Hussain Zargar and Dr. Jahanzaib Sirwal were detained by the J&K Police Department.
