Two arrested with 50 bottles of illicit liquor, SPO injured

KATHUA: In continuation to its drive against illicit liquor, Kathua Police under supervision of SSP R C Kotwal during special Naka checking duty at Banyari seized 50 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested two persons. As per details, a team from Border Police Post Banyari led by Incharge Border Police Post Banyari, under supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan during Naka checking duty at Banyari noticed a suspicious motorcycle (JK08G-4518) which was directed to stop for checking. Sensing danger bike rider didn’t stop vehicle and hit a SPO, Raghubir Singh who got seriously injured. He was taken to Sub District Hospital Hiranagar for treatment. Police team apprehend two persons namely Ravi Kumar, son of Bishan Dass and Mangu Ram, son of Dev Raj, both residents of Haria Chak. During checking 50 bottles of illicit liquor (180 ml) each were recovered from their illegal possession. The duo was arrested and FIR No 163/2021 under Sections 279/337/ 48(A) of Excise Act was registered against them at Police Station Rajbagh.
