STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: District Congress Committee, Youth Club organised party workers convention at village Jaganoo in Udhampur on Sunday where workers also paid tributes to Major Dhyan Chand on National sports day. Senior Congress leader and District Congress Working President Ashwani Khajuria was the Chief Guest while District President Mahila Congress Preeti Khajuria presided over the function. A large number of spokesperson highlighted their problems, which are increasing day by day. They said that the youth of the country are getting away from their duties towards country and going on wrong path like social evils. Ashwani Khajuria in his address said “if we have to strengthen the country in the coming times, then first we have to bring the youth on the right path”. He said that the biggest hand in pushing the young generation of the country towards backward is drug addiction. The young generation forgot the difference between moral and immoral values, which is causing harm to the society. Khajuria said that the family as well as society should play the most vital role to urge youths to inculcate their efforts to make the nation strong. While in her address Preeti Khajuria said “that on this day, on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, we salute him and told that this day is also celebrated on National Sports Day”. Major Dhyan Chand was an Indian field hockey player widely regarded as one of the greatest in the history of the game. In the end, Preeti distributed sports material including skipping ropes, cricket, badminton, chess, basketball, Volleyball and Football kits and many more items to the youths. Besides, a large number of local youths, Abhay Kumar was present in the convention.
