Former Pr Conservator of Forests urges people to plant bamboos

UDHAMPUR: A meeting of the People Organistaion for welfare and Environment Reconstruction was held under the chairmanship of MJ Sharma, former Pr. Chief Conservator Forest on Saturday in Udhampur. Discussions were held to boost the plantation of Bamboos.
According to Sharma, mission Bamboos shall be launched by the JK UT Govt in to maintain the ecological imbalance of the environment. Stressed was laid on cultivation of bamboos and its marketing and establishment at craft centres at various places in the Jammu region. Since district Udhampur having vast potential of growing bamboos plantation, Pvt, Govt land is available for plantation. It was resolved that project reports would be prepared under the guidance of CK Sharma, Distt president POWER Udhampur chapter for Udhampur region. Apart from that AIF and BC&G taken up for the establishment of at least one bamboo craft centre in Udhampur. The POWER organisation will also write to concerned authorities for the same.
Vimal Sharma President AIF, Rajinder Kumar member AIF, Vijay Kumar organising commissioner BS&G, Mridul Sharma, Aman, Vasu and Sanjeev Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
