JAMMU: Much awaited elections of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association were held at High Court Complex in Janipur on Saturday. As per the Returning Officer, out of total 1,591 votes, 1,413 votes were casted among which 98 were postal while 211 votes were casted by women voters. The voting started at 10 AM and continued upto 5 PM.
It is pertinent to mention here that four candidates namely Ashok Sharma, M K Bhardwaj, K Nirmal Kotwal and Ranjit Singh are in fray for the post of President while four candidates namely Gurjeet Singh Wazir, Mohinder Pal Singh (Palli), Prem Singh Pawar and Rohit Verma are contesting for the post of Vice-President. For the post of General Secretary, Amit Gupta, Himanshu Sharma and Surjeet Singh Andotra are in fray while Aditya Sharma and Atul Raina are contesting for the post of Joint Secretary. The contestants for the post of Treasure are Amandeep Singh and Sahil Sharma.
The Returning Officer further informed that counting of votes will start at 1 PM on 29th August, 2021.
