Policeman killed while trying to forcefully enter into a temple in J&K’s Kupwara

Srinagar, Sept 22: A policeman was killed by security forces after he tried to forcefully enter into a temple last night in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, official sources said on Wednesday.
They said that a policeman, identified as Ajay Dhar, tried to forcefully enter into a temple during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday in Handwara area of Kupwara. “The sentry, posted at the temple, assumed it an attack by anti-national elements and opened fire,” they said.
They said Dhar was critically injured in the firing. “The wounded was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed,” they added.
They said Dhar was posted at Police Station Handwara. “Police has registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident,” they added. (Agencies)
