JAMMU, Oct 8: Son of soil and Mirabai Chanu’s coach, Vijay Kumar has been honoured by the J&K Weightlifting Association at MA Stadium, here today.
Presently, he (Dronacharya Awardee) is providing coaching to Olympic Silver medallist, Mirabai Chanu.
He was specially invited for this honour by the president, Harbhajan Singh and general secretary Yudhvir Singh of the Weightlifting Association along with coaches including Inderpal Singh, Dhanraj Singh, Dayal Singh, Akash Virdi and Dinesh Pathania.
About 100 weightlifters of the J&K were present during the felicitation ceremony. He was elated to see the enthusiasm and zeal of the young weightlifters of the J&K and addressed the queries raised by the young enthusiasts during the event.
