JAMMU: Chairman PHDCCI Jammu, Rahul Sahai called on Rita Teaotia , Chairperson, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Govt of India in Jammu
Rita Teaotia was accompanied with Arun Singhal, CEO FSSAI, Shakeel-Ul-Rehman Commissioner, FDA J&K, Sanjeev Kumar Deputy Commissioner Food Safety (HQ) and other senior officials of FSSAI New Delhi and Jammu.
Sahai said Food sector effects 1.35 billion Indian citizens and it is an enormous task that it just cannot be done by the regulator themselves it is got to be through participation and a shared responsibility of public and various Associations and Chambers at large.
Sahai congratulated Rita Teaotia for setting target based food safety and standards and PHDCCI J&K would like to contribute in achieving the goal.
He also said Commissionerate of Food and Drugs J&K and department as a whole is doing a wonderful job .
Sahai suggested mass awareness programmes of various schemes by the department.
He also suggested to dedicate a special fund and special man power for awareness of these programs also offered that PHDCCI and other associations can also take part in various awareness activities by organising cyclothon, marathon, seminars , workshops .
Rita Teaotia instructed Shakeel-Ul-Rehman to hold regular interactions with Chambers , Consumer Forums , Civil Society and organise the same.
Rita Teaotia gave a patient hearing to PHDCCI Delegation and assured that FSSAI is very serious about their schemes to be implemented in letter and spirit in J&K and will definitely keep these points in mind and will take regular reviews regarding these activities.
