JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir junior team finished overall third in Sanda event of the National Wushu Championship held at Lovely Professional University in Punjab.
The J&K team secured two gold and four bronze medals in this event. Haryana topped with eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals while Manipur with two gold, 1 silver and two bronze remained overall runners-up.
Sadia Tariq and Ansa Chisti were gold winner from J&K in below 48 kg and 52 kg weight categories respectively. Ayra Chisti, Kaifa Shah, Ali and Ajmal secured Bronze medals for J&K.
In the valedictory function, president Wushu Association of India, Bhupender Singh Bajwa presented medals. He was accompanied by the MD of the Lovely Professional University Jalandhar and president of the Punjab Wushu Association, Surinender Singh Sodhi (Arjuna Awardee).
Meanwhile, chief patron of Wushu Association of J&K, Yogesh Sawhney congratulated the medal winners.
