Vigilance Awareness Week: Seminars, interactive programmes held

JAMMU: Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 has started at Anti Corruption Bureau, UT of J&K from October 26th and shall continue till November 1. The week-long observance started with a pledge taking ceremony at ACB Headquarters, all Police Stations of ACB and other Departments of UT of J&K.
Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated every year during the birthday week of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. During the week-long Vigilance Awareness campaign, various activities like conducting online/ offline seminars and other related awareness activities are being carried out in various locations. In this connection, Joginder Singh, SSP ACB Rajouri-Poonch held a seminar in the Conference Hall of DPL Rajouri, which was attended by officers/officials of various departments and their Departmental Vigilance Officers. During the seminar officers of ACB also interacted with general public and briefed them for lodging complaints against corruption.
Mustaq Chowdhary of Police Station ACB Udhampur also organised webinar for students and teachers of Higher Secondary School Garhi. During the webinar, stress was laid on the role of youth towards policy of achieving transparency and accountability.
The students were also made aware of the various procedures of ACB used in investigation of corruption related crimes. Another interactive session was organised at Arnas, which was attended by Panchs/ Sarpanchs, general public and officers/ officials of Police Station Arnas. The participants were asked to come forward and report corruption related cases to ACB. Dalip Kumar, SSP of Police Station ACB Jammu as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, organized a special Interaction at Block Office, R S Pura. Others who attended the interaction included SDM R S Pura, SDPO R S Pura, BDO R S Pura, DDC/BDC members, SHO R S Pura and SHO Miran Sahib. The queries of attendees were also properly responded to.
A team of ACB from Police Station ACB Doda visited Govt. Degree College Doda and organized vigilance awareness programme / workshop, which was attended by Principal Dr Attar Singh Kotwal, faculty members and other staff. ACB team sensitized faculty and other staff members about menace of corruption and how to weed out corruption from the Society.
