JAMMU: Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year is part of the multi-pronged approach of the Commission where a key strategy is to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding existence, causes and gravity of the threat posed by corruption. J&K Anti Corruption Bureau has organized a series of events during Vigilance Awareness Week to spread awareness and promote Vigilance.
Dalip Kumar, SSP ACB Jammu held an interactive session with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) members (BDC and Panchs/Sarpanchs) of Block Ghagwal in District Samba, with a purpose to inform and educate common people through their PRI members about their rights/responsibilities as well as existing laws for prevention of corruption. ACB officers also explained various provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act and procedure required to be followed for lodging of corruption related complaints.
Varinder Manhas, SSP ACB Doda also organised vigilance awareness programme, which was attended by Principal Swaran Singh Jaral, Snok Chand Naib Tehsildar, Surinder Thakur Forester Batote, teachers and other staff. ACB team sensitized the participants about menace of corruption and ways to curb the social-evil. Similarly, Joginder Singh SSP ACB Rajouri held a seminar in premises of District Police Lines Poonch in association with officers/officials of other departments of District Poonch. During the seminar, lectures were delivered by Insp Raj Kumar Koul, Insp Shrikant Parihar and Insp Naresh Chander over prevention of corruption. During the course of seminar, the team of ACB also interacted with the participants and inspired them for lodging complaints against corrupt activities.
S Balasubramony, SSP ACB Central organised a workshop at Conference Hall of DC Office samba to commemorate Vigilance Awareness Week 2021. SP Abhisheik Sharma, DySP Ashok Sharma and Insp Mohd Sadeeq gave a brief introduction and lecture on the corrupt practices adopted by the Government officials along with a detailed presentation.
