SKJAVS Trust releases book ‘Nagdevatas Ki Mahima’, felicitates eminent citizens

JAMMU: Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avem Vedic Sansthan (SKJAVS) Trust held a function here on Sunday to release a book titled ‘Nagdevatas Ki Mahima’ written by Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Trust, which was attended by a galaxy of distinguished guests. A number of eminent citizens were also felicitated on the occasion for their contributions towards the society in various fields.
The programme started with lighting of lamp amidst chanting of Vedic hymens by Sanskrit scholars. Giving a brief detail about the book, Mahant Rohit Shastri said that Nags have been described as an integral friend of mankind in various scriptures. “Even Science even says that more than 80 percent of snakes do not contain venom. Therefore, there is a great need to save nature and this integral friend of humanity,” he added.
Former Minister and State Vice President BJP, Sham Lal Sharma said that J&K is a land of Vasuki and Ashtakuli serpents and there are temples of Nagdevtas at many places. Lauding efforts of Rohit Shastri for promotion of Sanskrit language and upliftment of society, he said that as per various mythological tales, folklores and legends, snakes have been proved beneficial for mankind in various ways. The programme was organised by social activist Ankush Sharma.
