JAMMU: World AIDS Day, observed on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection .
JK Public School Panjtirthi virtually observed World AIDS Day.
Jakiians enacted a skit to explain that how HIV spreads. They also displayed different banners to highlight the causes and symptoms of AIDS along with the preventive measures.
The students emphasised how the killer virus plays havoc with the immune system and takes the patients to the threshold of death.
Jakiians recited beautiful poems and urged the viewers that patients suffering from the disease must not be victimised and discriminated in the society. The red ribbon, which is a symbol of solidarity and commitment to the fight against HIV, was also worn by students.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi Suman Banbah advised the students to follow a healthy way of life by preventing themselves from such dreadful diseases. She said the AIDS day – theme of the year 2021 —End Inequalities, End Aids, End Pandemics.”
