JAMMU: The government on Thursday declared six hotels, with total capacity of 130 persons, as COVID Care Centres for foreign travellers in Jammu.
“To cope up with the emergent situation arisen by COVID-19, six Hotels are declared as COVID Care Centres for foreign travellers coming to District Jammu,” reads an order issued by Satish Kumar Sharma, Nodal Officer COVID-19, Jammu.

J&K reports 177 new Covid cases, Ladakh 23
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 177 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the infection tally to 3,37,263 on Thursday, while no new death due to the virus was reported from the Union Territory in the past 24 hours, officials said.
Out of the fresh cases, 37 were from the Jammu division and 140 from the Kashmir division of the Union Territory, they said. Srinagar district recorded the highest of 58 cases followed by 29 cases in Baramulla district. There are 1,697 active cases in the Union Territory, while the number of recovered patients was 3,31,089, the officials said. The death toll due to the pandemic was 4,477 as no fresh fatality was reported in the past 24 hours.
The officials said there were 49 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory as no fresh case was reported since Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, with 23 fresh, Ladakh’s COVID-19 tally has climbed to 21,601, while the number of active cases of the infection has gone up to 285 in the Union Territory, officials said.
Ladakh has registered 214 Covid-related deaths — 156 in Leh and 58 in Kargil — since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, they added.
Fourteen patients were cured and discharged from hospitals in Leh in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries in the Union Territory now stands at 20,102, the officials said.
All the 23 fresh coronavirus cases were reported in Leh, they added.
A total of 1,198 sample reports were found negative for the infection in Ladakh in the last 24 hours, the officials said.
Of the 285 active COVID-19 cases in Ladakh, 259 are in Leh and 26 in Kargil.
As per order, Hotel Vivek, Bus Stand, Jammu with 15 persons capacity, Hotel Premier, Residency Road, Jammu with 20 persons capacity, Hotel Amrita, Vivekanand Chowk, Jammu with 30 persons capacity, Hotel K.C Residency, Jammu with 30 persons capacity, Hotel Lords Inn, Jammu with 20 persons capacity, and Hotel City Top, Jammu with 15 persons capacity have been declared as COVID Care Centres. “Dheeraj Kumar, Inspector State Taxes Department, Jammu (Mobile No 9419186747) has been appointed as Nodal Officer of aforesaid COVID Care Centres,” it added.
