16 bovines rescued; 2 smugglers arrested

HIRANAGAR: Tightening noose over bovine smugglers within district, Kathua Police under overall supervision of SSP R C Kotwal on Monday rescued 5 bovines from NH Londi Morh Naka Point and arrested two smugglers while 11 bovines were rescued by Jhajjar Kotli Police.
As per details, a team led by Insp Yash Paul Sharma, SHO Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan while on checking duty at NH Londi Morh Naka point intercepted a suspicious vehicle (JK02AG-6632) which was driven by one Aijaz Ahmed Khatana, son of Rafaqat Ali Khatana and his accomplice Yasser Ali, son of Liaqat Ali, both residents of Kashwan Tehsil Kokernag District Anantnag. During checking of vehicle, 5 bovines were found laden in the vehicle mercilessly which were rescued. Duo was arrested and FIR No. 163/2021 under section 188 of IPC and 11 of PCA Act was registered against them. Meanwhile, 11 bovines were also rescued from a vehicle (JK20B/0413) during Naka checking at Suketar Naka by Jhajjar Kotli police. In this regard, case under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started. The recoveries were made by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Insp Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
