AKHNOOR: GDC Akhnoor organised a special lecture on the topic “importance of Bhagwad Gita in the present scenario”. The resource person for this literary event was Prof. (Dr) Bharat Bushan Sharma, Former (Retd.) Principal GDC Nowshera.
The programme was organised with the joint collaboration of Dept. of Sanskrit and Dept. of Sociology led by Prof. (Dr) Sandhya, HOD Sanskrit and Prof. Seema, HOD Sociology.
The programme began with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by welcome note by Prof. (Dr) Namarta, Principal of the college who emphasised on the relevance of holy scriptures and how they impact our lives to live and lead it peacefully. Approximately 12 students read Shlokas from Bhagwad Gita and interacted with the resource person.
Prof. (Dr) Bharat Bushan Sharma, deliberated on the importance of Bhagwad Gita and threw light on its moral and religious benefits in our day to day life. Prof. Sandhya also spoke on this occasion. Prof. Pushvinder Kumar, Dept. of Sanskrit anchored the whole event. Large number of students participated in this programme. Prof. Rashmi, Prof. Shashi, Prof. Shama and Prof. Nisha Kumari were also present. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Aksa, HOD English.
