Jat Mahasabha standing shoulder to shoulder with Gharana farmers: Ch Manmohan

RS PURA: Former Mayor and President All India Jat Mahasabha, Ch Manmohan Singh on Saturday asserted that his organization will support the farmers from Gharana Wetland area whose land is being taken away by the government without giving the adequate compensation and other relief as per norms.
The Jat leader was speaking during a visit to the spot in the village Gharana as he led a delegation of community members hailing from different places including Kathua, Hiranagar, Samba, Vijaypur, Bishnah, Suchetgarh, R S Pura, Akhnoor, Jourian, Nowshera and Jammu. Those who accompanied Ch Manmohan include Prem Pal Pala, AIJMS President, Vijaypur Constituency; Ch Darshan Lal, BDC Chairman Ramgarh; Sarpanch Ch Roop Lal, President AIJMS Tehsil Ramgarh; President Tehsil Vijaypur; Rattan Lal Tehsil President AIJMS Samba; Sarpanch Reena Choudhary, Mahila Wing President Samba; Sunil Choudhary, President AIJMS Bishnah; Sarpanch Ch Dev Raj; Sunil Choudhary (C.A), District President Jammu; Kuldeep Kour, Tehsil President Akhnoor; Pawan Choudhary Vice President Jammu Urban district; Tarsem Choudhary, Tehsil President AIJMS Khour and Ankush Choudhary, General Secretary AIJMS.
The Jat Mahasabha delegation visited the Gharana Village on the requests of Jat farmers affected by the aforesaid move of the government. Ch Manmohan Singh was warmly welcome by the Gharana farmers.
While interacting with Ch Manmohan, the affected farmers said that they also approached the court to seek justice but to no avail as the government has making false statements in the court against them thus forcing them to take the path of agitation. The affected farmers said that they wanted a government job for one member of each affected family and land swapping in case of compensation. They alleged that the government is showing extreme level of indifference while displacing them from their land but they will not allow this to happen.
After listening to the plight of affected farmers including the Jat community members of the area, Ch Manmohan said that the government should consider the pleas of the farmers without fail as their demands are the most genuine and not at all exaggerated. He said that Jat Mahasabha will support the cause of affected lot with complete sincerity and will leave no stone unturned to mould the government to go for via-media in this case as the affected lot has a valid point because what they are demanding is rightful and their right indeed.
While addressing the gathering, Ch Manmohan Singh has also taken up the matter with Rakesh Singh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader telephonically and sought his support for the affected farmers of Gharana Wetland. Rakesh Tikait assured Ch Manmohan full support for the cause of farmers and also assured to visit the spot shortly.
Ch Manmohan Singh also appreciated the efforts of Sarpanch Gurdyal Singh and Sushma Choudhary from Gharana for fighting the cause of farmers.
