The income tax (I-T) department on Tuesday extended the deadline for filing returns for financial year 2020-21 (assessment year 2021-22) till March 15, 2022. The decision comes in wake of the difficulties faced by taxpayers in filing tax returns due to the prevailing Covid situation as well as in electric filing of various reports of audit.
