GOOD NEWS

A good news is coming directly from horse’s mouth that J&K will remain insulated to COVID-19’s fourth wave. This has given lots of reasons to people of the UT to rejoice because earlier some researchers from IIT Kanpur have given an adverse statement that in June the fourth wave of the pandemic can hit the country with all places from north to south and east to west getting under its grip. But giving a sigh of relief to many, a senior medico and flu-expert, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan has now said that the COVID-19 cases on rise in China and other countries is not worrisome and that Jammu and Kashmir is unlikely to witness 4th wave of the deadly virus. He is of the firm belief that no doubt there has been a massive surge in COVID-19 cases in China and other countries like Hongkong, South Korea but it is not a cause of concern for Jammu and Kashmir as in China, the people are getting affected with the Omicron variant. There is no doubt that Omicron triggered a third wave in J&K, which has ended and in fact, the COVID has likely entered from pandemic to endemic zone, which is a big respite for the people as they can’t afford another wave now after Omicron infected almost everyone in J&K. It is pertinent to mention that Omicron is milder and is going to stay here but like other respiratory viruses it will not become a reason for another wave. There are speculations about a fourth wave but most of the experts believe that modeling is just a guess and with the vaccination and natural immunity, it is unlikely that J&K will have a fourth wave now. Although a new variant of COVID-19 may hit the region, that is again a speculation and nothing concrete can be said at the moment thus giving a chance to people to remain happy but on toes to stop spiraling of the virus again. It is now time to be on tracks again and work hard to ensure the progress of the country.
