KEEP IT UP

The recovery of a huge quantity of poppy straw in Jammu is an indication that despite police doing its job with extreme care the smuggling of narcotics is going on unabated with smugglers using age-old modus operandi without any fear of law or law enforcing agencies. Reportedly, the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police achieved another success after it foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of Poppy Straw weighing upto over 90 Kg worth lakhs of rupees. This surely is the part of conspiracy of international drug cartel because such a huge consignment cannot be meant for localized usage and it seems that it is the part of nefarious designs of narco-terror modules which are using drug money for promoting terrorism and separatism in the country especially Kashmir. Today’s action was reportedly carried out after getting information that a truck coming from Kashmir Valley and going outside J&K via Jammu has concealed large quantity of Poppy Straw. Upon this, ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid Naka at NHW-44 near Environmental Park Sidhra, Narwal Bye Pass Road Jammu and recovered the consignment concealed inside the vehicle. Like in the aforesaid case people should act as eyes and ears of the police to eliminate this curse from the society which is denting the interest of the country in many ways. It is duty of the general public to share information regarding such drug dealers so that appropriate legal actions are taken against them and this menace is uprooted from the society. As UT of J&K is confronting terrorism since last over three decades, allowing such activities is not only dangerous but is root cause of rising terrorism as lately many civilians have been targeted by the terrorists just to create fear psychosis among the local residents and entangling police in such cases while the big fish continue to carry out their big deals and give shape to nefarious designs for ensuring harm to India and benefit to neighbouring countries.
