Dogra Degree & Law Colleges conduct river cleaning drive

BARI BRAHMANA: Under the ongoing ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, NCC Unit of Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College on behalf of 4 J&K NCC Battalion conducted phase II of river cleaning drive in the Tawi River along the Har Ki Pauri Stretch.
Around 40 NCC Cadets took the initiative of cleaning the holy river Suryaputri (Tawi) by collecting the dumped waste. The waste mainly comprised of single use plastic waste, cloths, flowers & old household items from the river and disposed-off the collected waste alongside the Temple complex under the guidance of Rishabh Bakshi CTO NCC, Dogra Degree College and Desh Bandu, CTO NCC, Dogra Law College. Along with the cleanliness drive, the volunteers also tried to create awareness amongst the people. The NCC Cadets covered a stretch of over a Killometer and collected 120 kgs of waste approximately.
Desh Bandu (CTO NCC) Dogra Law College motivated young cadets to take earnest steps towards making the environment a better place to live and also made cadets aware about the importance of rivers in the nation’s progress and encouraged the cadets to contribute towards a sustainable development.
