Construction workers demand release of scholarship

JAMMU, Aug 17: Around 350 construction workers belonging to Sub Division Khour, led by social activist Devinder Singh staged a protest at Khour and demanded release of scholarships by the J&K Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board for the year 2021-22, here today.
They met with Tehsildar Khour regarding the issue and apprised her about the genuine problem of the workers being faced by them due to non release of the scholarship. The Tehsildar Monika Sharma gave a patient hearing and immediately discussed the matter with the Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner assured that soon the scholarship will be transferred to the beneficiaries.
Ramesh Lal, Ashok Kumar, Dilawar Singh Harbans Lal and many others were present during the protest at Khour.
