Over the next few weeks, Pakistan prime minister Shehbaz Sharif will initiate a series of discussions with his allies and top officials before taking one of the toughest calls of his tenure: Who will be the next chief of Pakistan’s army. The present army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa (61), was appointed in 2016 and is set to retire in the last week of November.
