Observing that artificial distinction between married and single woman for aborting unwanted pregnancy is not constitutionally sustainable, the Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that every pregnant woman, irrespective of her marital status, has the intrinsic right to choose to undergo abortion without any consent or authorization from a third party.
