While scripting a new record in Gujarat’s electoral politics by winning 156 of the total 182 seats of the state assembly, BJP also rewrote a few other election records. This was the first election since the state was formed in 1960 that 11 candidates — all from the incumbent BJP — registered victory margins of over one lakh votes.
